The FH-1172-TM Gemlux friction hinge is a yacht-quality piece of marine 304 stainless steel hardware that's designed to eliminate the need for gas shocks or hatch springs in some applications.
Friction is built into the barrel of the hinge using patented GEM technology, delivering the ability to hold open hatches, live well lids, radio box face fronts and the like. Larger/heavier loads can be accommodated by installing 3 or 4 hinges rather than just a pair. At 1.5" long by 1.5" wide, the FH-1172-TM HAS two mounting holes on each hinge leaf, sized for #8 fasteners.
Please note, however: Do not attempt to adjust the tension of these hinges in any way.
